There is a difference between change in levels and no status to status. There is a post in the FAQ sticky (#13, IIRC) that explains the various permutations.

To the OP, I'd call OPSC, explain that this trip will qualify you and that you want to make sure that it credits before your return flight and see if they will advance you the status. If explained politely and with the qualifying ticket in the near future this approach is often successful.
