As others have posted, this alliance has not yet happened, and needs to pass regulatory approval before it does (sometime in 2009).

Even when it does, you cannot redeem UAL miles for tickets on anything but UA flights (including United Express and Ted, while it lasts: it too is going away in 2009).

The major difference when CO is part of *A is that you may be able to earn UA miles on a CO flight.
