I'm flying TUS-PHX in a few weeks: a nice way to pick up some extra miles. My question is it appears the PHX-TUS leg is at 8pm and the aircraft sits in TUS and goes back to PHX at 8am. Why do this? Cheaper to park a plane overnight at TUS? Lack of gate space overnight at PHX?

Any insights would be great
