RCC / 1K discount

My wife purchased a spouse RCC membership in December and paid $200 (Prem. Exec Discount).

I attained 1K status in January and asked 1KVOICE if they would refund me the $150 ($50 spouse rate with 1K) for my wife's membership.

This is the response:

Dear SNA 1Ker,

Thank you for contacting us. Your inquiry about the Red Carpet Club
spousal membership offer is appreciated. I have contacted our Red
Carpet Club staff on your behalf with regard to your refund request.
They have indicated that this special offer is not retroactive. As your
wife enrolled for the annual Red Carpet Club membership prior to your
status change to 1K on December 31st, you would not qualify for a
refund. I'm sorry to disappoint you. If you should have any additional
questions about this promotion, you may contact the Red Carpet Club
directly at 1-520-881-0500.

Mr. Fickes, we hope that you will be able to enjoy the other benefits
you receive as a 1K flyer. Your business is important to United and we
look forward to the continued privilege of serving you.

Well, I was still not satisfied, and requested that RCC extend my membership to offset the difference in fees paid, this was their response:

Dear SNA 1Ker:

Thank you for your additional comments. In view of the circumstances,
your disappointment is understandable. I have contacted the Red Carpet
Club with your follow-up request for an extension of your wife's
membership. Regretfully, they indicate that they do not offer
extensions and must decline your request. I'm sorry that we could not
provide a more favorable reply to your request.

Oh well, I guess that BK thing has taught them to hold on to any $$$ they can get.
