MIA-MAD in exit row is most certainly survivable. You are in the best AA coach seat on any plane.

Keep your exit row seat and if an empty center row remains at door closing, move to it and do your best to defend it. Then lie down on all five seats after takeoff. But move to what looks empty now and you'll invariably be surrounded by others, with no exit row possibility at that point.
