I booked a flight from SFO-FRA-VCE. The first segment is UA metal, the last segment operates by LH. I used some SWUs to upgrade but only the SFO-FRA segment was upgraded.

Does that mean SWU cannot be used to upgrade a nonatlantic LH flight, even the overall iternary is a transatlantic tri?
