The economy continues to move in a downward spiral. Charging more for the ticket and charging lots of extra fees which are also higher than other airlines gives customers yet another reason to avoid United. Like fare increases which are not matched by other airlines in markets which are very competitive, fees will come back down if it is actually detracting from rather than enhanching revenues.
