If you're planning on getting into a BA lounge having the card is a good idea. Often they ask for the cards to confirm status. Mainly this happens at Heathrow T5, but I've also had it at Gatwick and Edinburgh.
Funny, but I was just at Heathrow T5 a few days ago and all BA's "greeters" wanted to see was my boarding pass. What's on a cAArd that isn't on a AA BP, anyway?
I do carry my PLT card, though I'm hoping to replace it with a EXP one for 2009.
