If you are travelling on an "affiliate" airline your status may not appear on the BP. When I fly CX my AA number and OW status are on the BP. If I fly KA only the number appears on the card not OW status.

That matters as I found out when I had a real hassle at PEK last trip. I had qualified for Platinum on previous trip HKG - YYZ a few weeks before but had not received the card before I left on that trip. I was travelling Y between PEK - HKG and had difficulty getting into the KA lounge at PEK with no card.

On my latest trip in HKG departing for PEK I was on KA in Y so no status on my BP and no lounge ticket printed out as you would get on CX, however with my card I waltzed into the Pier J lounge no problem.
