Yeah it really depends on the airport and the county/state as to how the taxes are applied. I know when I redeem free days under a competing program, in some places the free day plus the PLC and sales tax come off, leaving me paying the license recovery fee and tax for a whopping total of $1.45. Some places only apply the federal sales tax to the free day, and the provincial tax is applied to the full value of the rental (I'm a Canuck if y'all were wondering).

It's worth it to get a variety of quotes and find the best deal.
