You should try reading on this site a bit..you'll find much of the info you're interested in. Starwood is actually generally the credit card of choice around here, as the points can be exchanged 1:1 for miles on many airlines..does not need to be used on hotels.

I can't even find one to look through at the magazine stand. I feel uneasy about spending so much money ($50 is hecka expensive for a magazine!) for something that I don't even know I'll use. I know everyone says it's very useful, but what others find useful may not be for me. That's why I'd like to judge for myself.</font>
As previously suggested, why not try the online subscription which is very inexpensive? You might even be able to convince them to upgrade you to the physical version if you asked nicely and paid the difference.
