In-seat power disabled on at least one p.s. plane

Flew JFK-SFO on Oct 31 and SFO-JFK on Nov 4. In-seat power was disabled on both flights. Not sure if it was the same plane or not.

On JFK-SFO, the flight attendant said that per a briefing, all of the p.s. planes would be without in-seat power for a few weeks due to maintenance. Of course, my laptop was only about 50% charged when I boarded, so I only got about three hours of use out of it.

I saw there was a thread posted earlier today about how United has made improvements in customer service. Would it have been that difficult to e-mail everybody booked on a p.s. flight during this maintenance period to let them know the in-seat power wouldn't be working?
