Flying SFO to SYD on UA 0863 and UA 0873 late December - first class treat for my husband's birthday. Booked flights in July and snagged seats 5E&F and 4E&F based on SeatGuru recommendations. Just saw that my new seats are 4C and 1A...anything wrong with this picture? Apparently the new plane configurations are throwing all seating charts in the air and United decided that my husband and I didn't need to sit together for the entire 14+ hours. Only official recourse? After a long and utterly pointless conversation with a United rep and her supervisor, call in a couple of days before and see if they can move us back together. Other recourse? See if anyone knows any way to work the system to force a seat change.
