As far as the problem getting reported and fixed anytime soon, I seriously doubt it. Recently I got the purser on a BA flight rattled and disturbed by my observation that the entertainment system virtually never works right on any flight on any airline. If the passengers didn't realize that the maintenance standards for IFE systems are far different than those for jet engines, nobody would ever fly. On about half the flights I'm on there is a serious problem that affects everyone's entertainment, and on the other half some minor problem that only affects mine. Some probably think I'm exaggerating, but I'm not. There is always something wrong with the entertainment system (I'm excepting flights with audio only; there are fewer things to go wrong).
