There's a good reason its so much cheaper than the other airlines you menioned. Those are all great airlines. I've flown PR in C a few times and its not bad but its not outstanding by any means. I'd consider it a 3rd tier airline, I don't even know what long haul carrier I would comapre it to, none that I've been on. Some of the aircraft are getting upgraded now, if he gets one of those then the seats are supposed to be much better. I haven't seen them in person yet.

The one strong thing that PR has going for it is T2 in Manila. The whole Manila airport system is anything but civilized but T2 is much much better than the alternative.

I don't know what your dad is used to when it comes to international carriers so I don't want to scare you nor him off... PR isn't a terrible airline by any means it just doesn't compete well with the majority of the airlines in the 3 major alliances.
