My guess is that it also has more to do with the way competition works within Europe. One of the main reasons Jetblue offers sat tv is because they need something to differentiate themselves from the other airlines in the country. In Europe, there is less competition between airlines of different countries.

I do think that sooner or later we'll see the first TV services making their way to a EU carrier.
