I can only remember getting the CATSA massage once, and that was in October at YHZ. Something, presumably the rivets on my jeans, set off the metal detector, and the agent working the wand that day was in training, with a supervisor walking him through the process. The wand beeped on the various rivets and the button, so he asked if I consented to a manual search. I was a bit surprised at the request (and I think so was the supervisor), but I told him to fill his boots. Regulation patdown, with focus on the areas where the wand beeped, except when it came to the button on my jeans, he pushed so hard, I thought my pelvis was about to implode. Good thing for all parties involved that I had been to the urination station before security.

As I was collecting my things from the scanner, I could hear the supervisor saying "um, that was good, but I have some tips for your patdown technique..."

Also, wrt Newfiescreech's comment, I have had the full service inspection before at MAN. Standard patdown with a little squeeze at the end. Was definitely taken aback by that one...
