I have not experienced the pat down yet but if pat downs are being done, privacy would seem to be essential, but CATSA seems to have lost sight of such issues under the banner of security.

The last time I departed LAX I was selected to go into the big sniffing cabin (at least that's what I think it is - I could barely understand the TSA agent giving instructions). My biggest concerns were that it is very public - right in the middle of the crowds, so everyone looks at you as though you must be real trouble, and maybe more importantly, I lost contact with all my personal possessions - that is a big risk in my eyes.
