Well, my brother would not recommend it.

He drove to LAX to pick me up last week. Although there were no signs posted at the airport, apparently, the rule of the day is that no car can stop in arrivals/departure to pick up/drop off passengers...All pickups and drop offs must be through the parking structures.

Anyway, we didn't know, so he stopped to pick-me up at the arrivals area. It took maybe 5 seconds for me to throw my backpack into the car and to get in. He got a ticket in the mail.
