I can't offer much help. But I can say for you and anyone else, NEVER and I MEAN NEVER make a phone reservation without getting an email confirmation. DOCUMENTATION, DOCUMENTATION, DOCUMENTATION!

Someone saying to me, "it will be around $178 USD" would set off all kinds of red flags. First and foremost it doesn't sound professional and when making a reservation via phone an agent should be able to tell you exactly what rate you'll be charge.

In addition, always have a printed reservation/confirmation in hand when checking in so that you can verify the rate.

Having a print out of your confirmation can save you time and aggravation. d

Question, wasn't you rate disclosed when you checked in?
