Moral of this thread is to make sure that you have get Travel policy added to your contract.
When I joined my current employer, I made sure before I signed the contract that there was a paragraph related to travel and got it worded (by HR) that the MINIMUM class of service for any travel was Business.
Company sent out a memo a few weeks ago about travel now in Y-class. I booked a J ticket to BOM last week and when the travel department queried this I referred them to HR!
Yes its caused a few raised eyebrows, probably got my name blacklisted but I deliver the revenue that this company expects of me. Sounds arrogant but i have to have the right tools to deliver.
Overnight flight in Y then into all day meetings - no thanks.
