Absolutely, but you think the "system" would allow that
I've had similar experiences with the corporate numpties - upgrading the day before the flight via ONCI and the next morning had a flustered admin on the phone telling me that as the booking had been changed our glorious in house travel dept had cancelled my hotel booking
But then these are the same people that try to tell me that a booking on BA or VS to NRT is out of policy as there is a cheaper option - via Moscow on Aeroflot - and no I don't accept that option!!
