1. In the biz lounge they really need to rethink the layout for the buffet areas. The bar service just needs to be relocated away from the self service buffet.
2. Install another staffed reception desk for peak hours only. They do not have to open a new entrance, just a new desk opposite the existing one.
3. Sort out the toilets, this was really poor design and unhygienic. They only have to move the toilet seat protector dispenser to the side wall.
4. Lack of training/knowledge of the lounge staff is still way below par.
5. Although not mentioned in my post signage is a problem. There are no main signs to the smoking area. My buddy took 5 minutes and 2 requests for directions to find it. Another PAX showed him the way.
None of these would cost a fortune but would make the lounge a far more relaxing environment.
This still leaves the problem of the open lounge. It is impossible to do anything in the short term. To make any improvements would mean closing 1/2 of the lounge to carry out the work. My smoking friend travels to Singapore 3 - 4 times a year and tells me the SQ lounge is miles ahead of DBX.
