I had a 4+ hour layover - AA did issue my ongoing boarding pass for the BA flight (as AA doesn't support OLCI for international), although I did exchange it for a BP printed on BA stock (just in case the dragons at Galleries Arrivals in LHR were going to be feisty)

BA.com lists the summer schedule as having un from, 03/30/08 until 10/25/08, so I don't know if the 23:00 flight (which was not a daily flight) will return or if it is history.
