I rarely fly anymore, so my points come from actual dollars spent.Last year i spent $120,000 on my CC, and got 120,000 points. I used these to fly first class to Bangkok, a ticket worth around $9,000. I therefore got about an 8% return or 8 cents on each dollar spent. I thought that was a good return! (I don't see the sense of using points for anything less than business class.)
