No offense taken whatsoever. I appreciate your point of view and certainly as I pointed out in my original post, your by no means the only one with this point of view right now. And though I can understand that you may not seek "moral" opinions on FT, conversely, I find that I can't simply check my morals/values at the door. This is a public forum and when you throw something out there your likely to get a wide variance of feedback. But that's ok, it's what makes FT an interesting and valuable place

Also, I think we got caught up in debating your specific situation, but I was also trying to point out that there are additional threads going on regarding this situation, not just this thread. There have been other threads started that seemed to be, in veiled language, asking "how do I keep using <insert your preferred benefit here> if I cancel my card?"

So, I guess the broader point I was trying to make (and I just chose this thread to do it ) is that I think people do find value in AMEX Plat, they are just angry that domestic 241 has been canceled. Fair enough, I'm angry about that too. But I'm trying to step back from that for a bit and see if I can extract additional value from the card and whether it might make sense to keep. I guess the jury is still out on that and the process is ongoing. If that process demonstrates to me that it's not worth it, then I'll cancel, forgo the benefits and move on.

Regards
