There are different rules for cabin lighting in different countries. Some like them lit, others dark. One you can see what is going on inside, the other you can see what is going on outside.....

Now, for passenger comfort, what I really want to know is why with dark cabins at night, the toilets still blast so much light at you that you cannot get back to sleep afterwards!
