Hmmm.... I'm not sure that is the point at all. I think the current line of discussion is around attempting to continue utilizing various benefits of the platinum card after cancelling it and receiving a pro-rata refund of your annual fee. The FHR feature just happens to be the benefit being discussed in the context of this thread. There are other threads looking to determine whether airline club access can be continued to be utilized, etc.

Anyhow, Amex must be doing a good marketing job then, because it appears there are numerous folks who want to keep using the FHR benefits even after they've given their card back to Amex!
