Anyone who has done any international to USA can tell you 1:35 is pretty thin, more on the arrival side than the leaving side.

You have to clear Canada immigration which may not be that bad, wait for bags, leave through Customs, then go upstairs and to the other end of the terminal. Check in with AA, kiosk or in person, then you preclear US DHS in Toronto, then drop your bags on the way to security.

How does arriving at 4:50 pm (1650) and leaving at 8:25 (2025) p.m give you an hour and 35 minutes? Seems more like 3:35 to me.
