This is my own guess:
When I searched flights LHR-CPT earlier in October, they didn't have a flight on Dec 25th. Now later in October there is a flight on Dec 25th. So my amatuer guess is that all flights are very well booked on Dec 24th so they now introduced a Dec 25th flight. The simple reason is that they don't have more to sell, so another flight will solve this.
Is that reasonable? I have searched for LHR-CPT flights from June, it was very recently as the Dec 25th flight was available.
