Sorry, one more thing there Julie, it's my belief that upgrades using miles on flights to NZ from LAX are notoriously hard to come by. For you, with Alaskan miles, it'd have to be Qantas I guess, and there is maybe just one flight a day. Can anyone else provide any experience on that?
