The distinction, jmartin, is that while each airline website has, of course, offered bonuses for purchases, Orbitz is the first online travel agency to offer such a bonus. As a travel agency, many different airlines are offered at Orbitz website. Whether bonuses will follow for other airlines offered via Orbitz remains to be seen, but I think it's a fairly safe bet US won't be the only one for long.
