Care of an ill/injured passenger is the responsibility of FAs and cockpit crew
You may seek assistance of physician/nurser, if on board; ask for identification before allowing volunteer to assume duties of care, or ask the Captain to contact the Physician-on-Call.

Paging for On Board Medical Assistance

- Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a medical emergency on board. If you are a physician, nurse, or other licensed health care professional and are willing to volunteer your assistance, please identify yourself to a Flight Attendant.

- A physician licensed in a foreign country may assist, after presenting credentials.

Please don't argue with me about what the Procedures that are in place. I understand what you are saying....just giving you an idea of what AA FAs must follow

So, actually if that's cut and pasted it does not say that a US Md nor EMT-P needs to provide credentials, only that a foreign one does. It does say to ask, but does not say to obstruct a volunteer from providing care if he/she does not have ID. If I had to bet, that's because what I wrote above is true, and the airline doesn't want to a have a policy that could lead an FA to try to stop a trained professional from rendering care....

The airline has no more authority to stop me from helping a sick person that Walmart does if he collapses in isle 9... they could throw me out for trespass, and the FA could order me to stay in my seat, but beyond that, seems unlikely they would obstruct.
