If you're a photoshop user, remember that some gamma and color calibration cannot work with most LCDs. I believe CNET has a discussion of these issues. Mrs. PVDProf is a designer and she won't switch to LCDs because only the very high end ones ($$$) allow her to make the adjustments she needs, while most CRTs will do it easily.
There's a 24" (low-end) Dell in front of me right now, but I'm typing on my Macbook, because the screen is MUCH nicer to look at.
