You would expect there to be more truly high-end hotels in Berlin, but I find that most disappoint, especially the much-lauded Adlon.
I rather like the Ritz-Carlton as it works extremely well. Its position on Potsdamer Platz is a bit brutal, as the architecture in this part of town is very modern and unforgiving, with loads of glass, but once inside, the look is very warm and old world.
The Club is on the 10th and 11th floors and the lounge overlooks the park and the Sony centre. I think there were only 3 food presentations daily - less than the US or Asia.
There are two restaurants - a great authentically French brasserie and a fine dining restaurant, which used to have Thomas Kellerman cooking there - but no longer.
You are quite near the amazing Jewish monument - a sort of stone maze that occupies acres of prime real estate, and within walking distance of the Sony Centre and its popular shops and restaurants.
The only other options in Berlin these days are the intimate Brandenburger Hof, which has a spectacular restaurant, and Rocco Forte's Hotel de Rome (both very good).
