Refer-a-friend promotion received with Silver packet
I didn't make my Gold requal in September, so was dropped to Silver.

My Silver card and packet arrived today. In it is a refer-a-friend card which says I will get 2000 status miles for referring each of two friends (4K total).

The card has room for the friends' names and contact info and their signatures.

A couple of questions....

1. Is there any reason my wife can't be one of my friends?

2. There is nothing about it not available to U.S. residents (even though the application form, of course, presumes an U.K. address.)

Obviously the "Freepost" isn't going to work from the U.S., but I don't suppose there's any reason I can't just stick it in the mail and send it postpaid, no?

4K status miles seems a generous bonus; it's more than 10% of the Gold re-qualification! Anything I'm missing?
