I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this at Asia Pacific hotels... when I was at the Ren Suzhou, they kept trying to tell me that the lounge access was only for the gold member and no one else (I was with my family... they finally relented, but said it was a big exception). It seems in general across chains that the lounges in China at least are always staffed by someone checking you in at the entry point and restricting the number of people who can enter. Is it because they tend to be nicer (more food, drinks, etc.)?
