Experience with the BA systems certainly makes you realise what a wreck of a system bmi has.
Yesterday I had a return award booking with BA, but only wanted the inbound leg. So on ba.com, I logged in and cancelled the award booking. I logged out then back in and the miles were back in my account immediately for use. I checked the availability and my mileage seats had handily fallen back into the award bucket, so I booked them again. All this in the space of about 4mins.
I now need to cancel a bmi miles award and use the miles for a different award. What fun will ensue!
