I have taken a number of J class flights over the last couple of months, and have visited each of the 3 J lounges in MEL, SYD and BNE. I really can not see any particular benefit or special offering of the J lounge (apart from the status of going into the J section, or a slightly dressier crowd in the J lounge), particularly as on 2 of 3 occasions the J lounges have been full to overflowing - overcrowding has been one of the issues that seems to have become more prevalent over the years. The BNE lounge seems to be worse for this, although CNS also seems consistently bad.

The food if of course one of the areas that can be improved over the QPs. Apart from some (substantial) gourmet pies in the BNE lounge, there seemed to be very little difference between J and QP, as others have stated.

This is something QF can work on over the next couple of years, although hopefully this will not involve downgrading the services offered in the QP lounges, which would have an impact thoughout the entire network.
