The worst checkin I have ever had (LAX)
Arrived LAX 800p (1130p departure) and could not find a 1K checkin so I used Mr Easy (for the ua ticket).
Ticket 1: lax-ord-iad UA
Ticket 2: iad-clt-cho US
I showed the agent my us itinerary and asked her to check my stuff to cho.
First reply-these are usair flights on a separate ticket, and I cannot check your stuff on those flights. My reply-they are ua codeshare flights with ua flight numbers. YES you can check it to cho.
She dinked around on her computer for a bit, printed a tag, and proceeded to attach it to my stuff. I always check the tag. It had no ord segment, said iad-clt-cho, so I asked, "how is this going to get to ord". She said the ua system was "smart enough" to know the iad segment left from ord and would get it there. I said BULL, I want to see the complete routing on the tag. She dinked around some more, made a phone call, then printed more tags. I checked it again. One bag was going to ord, the other was iad-clt-cho. When I questioned this she said "the system" would know the two bags were traveling together and so they would go ord-iad-clt-cho. I said BULL XXXX, this is Unbelieveable. Then she went to talk to someone again, returned, and printed new tags. After she attached them I obviously checked, and found one bag had two tags to ord, the other had two tags iad-clt-cho. I asked again, how is this going to work. She switched the duplicate tags so that each bag had an ord TRF and iad-clt-cho. Who knows where my stuff would have ended up, or when I would have ever seen it again. (But I am in ord so it is still an open question).
