Thanks for all the info. I think we are actually saying the same thing about paying once versus twice when it comes to sleepers. If you pay with points, there is only one charge that covers both the room and the coach fare; if you pay with cash, there are two charges, one for the room and one for the coach fare -- right?

Yeah, I was looking at the points cost for a single zone -- from where I am (SE Michigan) to New Orleans. The roomette is a great deal if two people are traveling together, only 4000 points for an upgrade that would usually cost $100. If just one person is traveling, it's not such a great deal at 9500 points for a $100 upgrade. I guess for best value, I'll have to talk my husband into traveling with me!
