[QUOTE=HKG_Flyer1;10580237]In general, I would agree that HKG is a fairly easy transit point.... however, I would like to point out one near mis-connect I experienced recently.
I was in F on CX889 from YVR to HKG, arriving at 7:50, connecting to CX723 in J to KUL, departing at 8:55. We arrived on time, and I was one of the first off the plane. I was directed to the nearest security checkpoint (which one must pass through prior to passing through to the departures level).
So if your final destination is not Hong Kong and you have a CX to KA connection you have to leave the arrival area of the airport, go back through security and then to a different departure area? Doesn't sound very efficient.
I also only have only an hour IF CX889 is on time. Why would CX schedule connection flights so close together if pax have to go through security again which can be a nightmare depending on the crowds? Why would you have to go through security if you don't leave the transit part of the airport and you've already been through security at your departure city? What are they looking for? I've never passed through another airport where you had to go through security for a connecting flight from the same terminal.
