Examples have been described in many threads, over the years. I wanted to go over the various scenarios, all in one thread.


I have been told by an AC agent today that:

if one misses the check-in time threshold, but calls before the flight departure for:

latitude (or unrestricted business class) tickets - no penalty
tango or tango plus tickets - loss of ticket
Aeroplan ticket (no instant KK involved) - Aeroplan must find award availability on a later flight that day - otherwise loss of award ticket.


I did not ask the agent what happens if you call AC reservations or Aeroplan, after the flight has left. I presume (but I remain to be corrected) that one loses the ticket, in all of the above scenarios?
