The second upgrade I was talking about was the INFLIGHT PAID upgrade. In case you're not familar with it, this is the one (available on BA only AFAIK) where AFTER the doors close, you ask to talk to the CSD and ask if you can pay for an upgrade to the next class (for that flight only, and it's a seat upgrade only, your meal has already been loaded on the plane and can't be changed). It's 200 GBP for an upgrade from economy to premier economy on a longhaul flight, not sure how much it is for other upgrades. Anyhow, this is only available after you're on the plane, and CT-UK said the people ON THE PLANE (as opposed to on the ground at the airport) can't tell that you've got an award ticket or that you got an award upgrade before you got on the plane. So if they can't tell that, how can they stop you from doing a double upgrade THAT way?
