Something ain't right here, and not sure what it is. Could just be a new person in PR trying to come up with a press release to get the company name out there, or trying to deflect the negative $107.1 million 4th quarter loss.
Sounds more like a things are not good at Air Tran, so they would send out a strange press release.
You're all forgetting that AirTran currently partners with Frontier:

Which brings up numerous possibilites, including that they want to signal to Frontier that they're willing to change partners if Frontier doesn't give them a good deal.
