Talk about a non-event press release!

Perhaps they are hoping that someone might not read all of it, and assume that the two are talking and ATA stock might go up long enough to dump some of it. Might have worked if the market hadn't taken such a hit on Friday.

Sending out a press release saying they "might consider" a codeshare arrangment with an airline that you admit you have not talked to? What's the point, or is it an act of desperation in hopes that suddenly Southwest will see the press release and then pick up the phone and get this dream of Air Tran into reality.

Something ain't right here, and not sure what it is. Could just be a new person in PR trying to come up with a press release to get the company name out there, or trying to deflect the negative $107.1 million 4th quarter loss.

Sounds more like a things are not good at Air Tran, so they would send out a strange press release. Maybe I should start an IPO, then announce I am thinking about purchasing Wal-Mart and Disney, because of the synergy of the two companies. I would disclose we haven't talked to anyone about it, don't have the resources, but if we did it would make me a lot of money. If my stock went up I would at least make some money, or the share price would go up on the IPO and I would get more money.
