I have a standard award and I am looking to redeem it.

When is the best time to redeem an award in order to maximize the number of flight choices available to me? For example, when using the RR seat finder there is only one flight available and it is in the early morning.

I am looking to book a round-trip flight from BWI to MHT in late December (22nd) and early January (4th) (not subject to blackout restrictions). When I searched to book a normal flight (non RR) all of these flights have seats open.

Am I looking too early? Will SW open up more flight times to RR customers as we get closer to these dates? If so, when should when should I check back?

I've run into this problem before. I'm really just trying to understand how the RR flight availability works and when the best time to redeem an award is so I will have the most choices? (a month before flying, 2 weeks, a week, etc.) Any answers, comments, or suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
