I don't know whether either of these are at all "new" or whether my past research has been sorely lacking...

But... I have only just noticed that the Airpoints T&C's allow gifting by Golds (not just E's as I thought) to 2 folks NOT living at the same address... I didn't know that.

...I also finally found that one can use 2 Complimentray upgrades to try for the Y > BP "double".... Hoped that was the case.. but didn't know... good news. Frees up 595 A$....

So now - if I can get all the appropriate details (like Airpoints m'ship #'s) without raising any suspicions I can put in for Airbucks upgrades for two very good friends - which willl be processed at "gold level" apparently.... Too cool.

Whether or not they clear is of course the usual '"lotto"... but it will be a "mid week" flight so I'll live in hope...

Damn.. just remembered they've booked on the 777..... So less chance and less point.....still worth it to try to get them into Y+ I suppose....just not AS good......... or as likely. <Rude Word>
