1) I had a confirmed reservation for a suite @ 387 per night
2) The hotel wouldn't give me my suite unless I paid them an extra $400 per night
3) When I didn't want to pay them the $400 extra per night, they downgraded me to a regular room.

Stating just the facts also has the advantage that the CS reps won't start to bring the other information into the story just to obfuscate things. I'm not saying that Starwood CS would do this on purpose, but I worked in a call center and know a thing or two about how these things tend to play out.
