When filing your complaint, I would leave out all the extraneous details such as initally booking a room, but for the wrong date, thinking about booking the villa, etc. Just state the facts, you booked a specialty suite, had a confirmation of that and it was not honored at the hotel. Leave out everything about being charged for a platinum upgrade, etc. You booked the specialty suite, yet was charged an extra $800 to stay in the specialty suite, then was forced to stay in a lesser room the remaining nights.
